Sonar +D // Creativity, Technology & Music

The POP up Fab Lab of Fab Lab Barcelona in collaboration with MADE maker space participated this year as technology providers at Music Hack Day of Sonar, organised by UPF . The Pop up lab has been supporting MHD hackers to integrate electronics, make their physical prototypes, create soft circuits and textiles, solder their circuits and create their invention.

This year’s special track was on wearables and music performance. Many companies such as Bare Conductive, Orphe smart shoes, R-iot sensor, Roli piano and many many more where providing their products for creative hacks and applications. The pop up lab collaborated with more than 15 teams to support them in their physical prototypes and in going one step further into the integration of wearables with the body.

The 24 hour Hackathon had inspiring results such as a small soft piano using conductive thread and bare conductive board, a glove that plays notes in the different fingers and communicates with the NFC tag cashless band of sonar bracelet, a 3d printed part with a blowing sensor for people with disabilities that allows you to compose by using the movement of your head and lots more.
