In our lab we mainly used machinable wax to prepare our positive molds, then silicones to prepare our negative molds, some foodsafe to make yummy fancy chocolate, and some not to make all sorts of other objects.
We learnt that to cast silicone in silicone molds you need a demolding agent..

Alessandra casted her lips and scanned the result with the Roland Modela, to then make a mold for chocolate. Check her page!
